Simple Use

These days many companies have eco-systems that are designed to tie us into a reoccurring payment structure. This in most cases involves first buying a pricy mobile device. Once we have that device we use these eco-system structures to do logins on other systems, such as I did to log into Square Space. Easy of use that many of us like. It is both a positive and negative thing. One of the negatives is it cost a lot to have an eco-system. In most case the use of the eco-system is of no cost to the user. But, the producer needs to price the mobile device $$$$ and/or mine our use and behavior to cover the cost of the eco-system. And sell additional products. They will not just sell a laptop or phone/tablet. The devices will have a camera. We have become use to doing everything on a phone or tablet and the reoccurring payments are designed around this. We could have a basic Linux laptop and a real camera. That would be cheaper but require more efforts. With an iPhone we can take pictures and then use Air drop the images to an Apple laptop and use them vs connecting the camera with a cable to the laptop. One issue here is the maker of the devices have sold so many of them, there are less buyers to find. So that is wear the increasing cost of the device has become. The future is likely to be a model where we have to pay a subscription to use features. That may be the cost of ease of use.
